Acceptable Use Policy (AUP)
Last Updated: 2026-06-19 Version: 2 Effective Date: 2026-06-19
This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) governs your use of the NoParrot service (“Service”) and Software. It is part of and incorporated by reference into our Terms of Service.
By using the Service, you agree to comply with this AUP. Violations may result in suspension, termination, blacklisting, and (where applicable) legal action.
1. Lawful use only
You may use the Service only for lawful purposes and in compliance with:
- These Terms of Service and this AUP.
- All applicable national, regional, and local laws.
- Third-party rights (intellectual property, privacy, publicity).
2. Prohibited content
You may NOT use the Service to process, store, transmit, or generate content that:
2.1 Illegal content
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM). We report any detected CSAM to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) or local equivalent.
- Content that promotes, facilitates, or constitutes terrorism, including content covered by EU Regulation 2021/784 on Terrorist Content Online.
- Content infringing intellectual property rights you do not have a license to use.
- Content that violates court orders, gag orders, or sealed proceedings.
- Material that violates export control laws.
2.2 Harmful content
- Threats, harassment, stalking, or doxxing of any individual.
- Defamation, libel, or slander.
- Hate speech directed at protected classes (race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability) where prohibited by applicable law.
- Non-consensual intimate imagery or recordings.
2.3 Recordings without consent
- Audio recordings made without the legally required consent of all parties in your jurisdiction (some US states require two-party consent; many EU countries restrict recording in private contexts). You are responsible for ensuring lawful recording.
2.4 Special-category data without authorisation
If you process recordings containing special-category data under GDPR Article 9 (health, political opinions, religious beliefs, sexual orientation, biometric data, etc.), you represent that:
- You have the data subject’s explicit consent or another lawful basis;
- If processing in a clinical, legal, or HR context, you have appropriate professional safeguards in place;
- For Enterprise scale processing, a DPA with us is in place (see DPA).
3. Prohibited activities
You may NOT:
3.1 Abuse the Service
- Bypass, disable, or attempt to circumvent rate limits, quotas, or feature gates.
- Use automated tools to artificially inflate usage or generate fraudulent traffic.
- Probe, scan, or test the Service’s security without our written authorisation.
- Exploit a vulnerability without responsibly disclosing to
security@noparrot.com.
3.2 Account abuse
- Maintain multiple accounts to evade limits, bans, or pricing.
- Share account credentials with another person.
- Sell, transfer, or auction your account or licence to another party.
- Create accounts using fake or disposable email addresses for the purpose of obtaining free trials or evading bans.
3.3 Misuse the API or CLI
- Make excessive API requests intended to disrupt the Service or other users.
- Reverse-engineer our APIs to create a competing product.
- Resell API access without our written authorisation.
- Use our infrastructure as a backend for an unrelated service.
3.4 Training competing AI models
- Use the Service’s outputs (transcripts, AI-generated filenames, template outputs) as training data for a competing automatic-speech-recognition or transcription service.
This restriction does not prohibit:
- Using your own transcripts in your own internal workflows.
- Fine-tuning unrelated AI models on text outputs (e.g., training a domain-specific summariser on your own meeting transcripts).
- General learning and knowledge acquisition.
3.5 Distribute malicious code
- Upload, process, or transmit files containing viruses, ransomware, worms, trojans, or any other malicious code.
3.6 Spam
- Use the Service to send unsolicited bulk communications.
- Use the Service to harvest contact information for spam purposes.
4. Trial abuse
The 14-day free Pro trial is limited to one per person. You may NOT:
- Create multiple accounts (using +tags, dots, alternative email providers, disposable email services) to obtain repeated trials.
- Use VPN/proxy services to circumvent geographic or per-IP trial limits.
- Reset hardware fingerprints in an attempt to qualify for repeated trials.
We use anti-abuse heuristics (normalised email matching, IP /24 subnet limits, hardware fingerprint matching, disposable email domain blocklist) to detect and prevent trial abuse. Accounts identified as abusing trials may be terminated and blacklisted without notice.
5. Sanctioned jurisdictions
You may not use the Service if you are:
- Located in a country subject to comprehensive US/EU/UK sanctions (currently Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, Crimea, regions of Ukraine under occupation, Russia, Belarus).
- A national of, or resident in, any other sanctioned jurisdiction.
- Listed on any sanctions or denied-party list (OFAC SDN, EU consolidated list, UK HMT, UN consolidated list).
We use IP-based geolocation at edge (Cloudflare Workers) to enforce sanctions geofencing. Attempts to evade geofencing (VPN, proxy) constitute a material breach.
6. Investigations and law enforcement
We may investigate violations of this AUP. We may:
- Suspend your access without prior notice if we reasonably believe you are violating this AUP.
- Cooperate with law enforcement under valid legal process (subpoena, court order, search warrant).
- Disclose user data to law enforcement when required by law, with notice to you where legally permissible.
- Preserve evidence of violations.
We publish a Government Data Requests report annually (planned — see Transparency in our Privacy Policy roadmap).
7. Reporting violations
If you become aware of any AUP violation, including illegal content or security vulnerabilities, please report it:
- CSAM: report immediately to
legal@noparrot.comAND directly to the NCMEC CyberTipline at https://report.cybertip.org, or your local hotline. - Security vulnerabilities:
security@noparrot.com(PGP key available on request). - Copyright infringement (DMCA): see DMCA agent designation at
legal@noparrot.com(in subject: “DMCA Notice”). - Other violations:

8. Consequences
We reserve the right to take any of the following actions for AUP violations:
| Severity | Action |
|---|---|
| Minor / first-time | Warning email and request to remedy |
| Moderate / repeated | Temporary suspension (24h – 30 days) |
| Serious | Permanent account termination, no refund |
| Egregious (e.g., CSAM, terrorism) | Immediate termination, evidence preservation, law-enforcement referral, addition to multi-factor blocklist for resubscription prevention |
9. Updates to this AUP
We may update this AUP. Material changes are communicated by email to active subscribers and via banner notice in the application at least 30 days before they take effect.
